Shh! Silêncio Academic Project · February 2022 "The victim's silence is the criminal's weapon." In 2020, there were 8720 cases of domestic violence against women in Portugal, of which 27 became fatal victims. Despite this, the subject of domestic violence is often avoided and replaced with news about, for example, Cristiano Ronaldo and his destroyed laundry room - something far less significant from a social perspective. This publication is structured in three identical books, in which all the content is intentionally repeated across different subjects, some more important than others. However, from book to book this content is gradually eliminated or censored, revealing the subjects that (should) truly matter to the public and that need to be highlighted in our daily lives. The layout for the book was created digitally, while the censored content was physically drawn using an overlaid painted acetate that was later digitized and added to the second book. This process was repeated, more extensively, for the third book. This ensured that the marked lines coincided perfectly with the content of the publication.
