Academic Project · May 2021 The aim of this project is to raise awareness about the value of water, change habits, and reduce waste before water becomes the next oil. To achieve this, the idea was to be direct and straight to the point. The calendar features six images that depict the act of saving water and highlight its importance. Water is essential for the growth and survival of human civilization. However, it is predicted that by 2040 there will not be enough available water to meet the needs of a large part of the planet. Either at a smaller scale, during basic personal hygiene, or at a larger one, such as the agriculture and livestock sectors, humans use water as if it were a limitless resource.
As water becomes scarcer, its value increases, intensifying inequalities between people and countries with vastly different access to it - and those with more resources inevitably win. In the project's production, stock images were gathered, printed, cut, and scanned to grant the authenticity of the intended graphic effect, rather than trying to simulate it digitally.
